Three spots. Two merit awards. Four pencils.
John Lewis’ lovable, accident-prone ‘Tiny Dancer’ took home two Golds and a Silver last night at the One Show in New York. The piece, from agency Adam&EveDDB, Blink director Dougal Wilson and deftly edited by our own Joe Guest, has been seen millions of times by people all over the world.
The One Show awarded the advert two Gold Pencils in the ‘Film – Consumer – Cinema Advertising / 90 Seconds & Under (Short Form) – Single’ and ‘Consumer – Television / Over 60 Second – Single’ categories, and a Silver Pencil in the ‘Consumer – Television / 60 Second – Single’ category.
AXE’s “Find Your Magic” also stood strong, taking home a Silver Pencil in the ‘Consumer – Cinema Advertising / 90 Seconds & Under (Short Form) – Single’ category. From noses to stilettos, the spot – from 72andSunny Amsterdam, directed by François Rousselet out of Division Paris, and edited by our own Amanda James – reminds us that washboard abs are far from the only “Thing” a guy can have.
Wieden+Kennedy’s “Hulk vs. Ant-Man” piece for Coke Mini, directed by Bullitt’s Russo Brothers and edited by Crispin Struthers, held its own with a Cross-Platform Merit Award award in “Consumer – Integrated Branding” and a Film Merit Award in “Craft – Animation.” The smashing ad follows the two heroes as they vie for the last can of Coke Mini.
