Final Cut editor / director Sonejuhi Sinha, hot off the heels of the Tribeca Film Festival, where her short film Love Comes Later was named a Tribeca All Access (TAA) grantee, has now been included in the storied SHOOT Magazine New Directors Showcase, to be revealed in full on May 26, 2016 at the DGA New York Theater.
“Each year SHOOT conducts a worldwide search to discover the best up-and-coming directors who, based on their initial work, show promise to soon make major positive contributions to advertising and/or entertainment in its traditional and emerging forms. This year’s search was conducted from January 1-March 31st, 2016.”

Earlier this year at Tribeca, Sonejuhi Sinha was given the opportunity to pitch her feature film adaptation of Love Comes Later, the same short that earned her a spot in this year’s NDS, as a part of the TAA, which has been “providing support to filmmakers from communities largely underrepresented in the industry” with the intent of “[bringing] unheard voices to the mainstream,” for the past 13 years. She was given the opportunity to pitch in twenty-five 30 minute meetings back to back over two days during this year’s festival. The response has been amazing.
Mind you, these aren’t the first accolades Sinha has garnered for her beautiful short film. Love Comes Later was also one of just ten shorts invited by Cannes Semaine De La Critique to participate in the feature development program Next Step in Paris.
We couldn’t be more proud of our very own editor / director Sonejuhi for being included in this years New Directors Showcase. Congratulations, Sonejuhi!
